**Responsibilities**:

- **Supervision**: Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in steel fabrication and assembly.
- **Production Planning**: Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals efficiently.
- **Quality Control**: Inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and ensure specifications are met.
- **Team Management**: Lead and manage a team of steel fabricators, welders, and other workers. Provide training and guidance as necessary.
- **Material Management**: Order and maintain inventory of materials, supplies, and tools required for steel fabrication.
- **Safety Compliance**: Enforce safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
- **Problem Solving**: Identify and resolve issues that may arise during the production process. Troubleshoot problems related to equipment and materials.
- **Documentation**: Maintain accurate records of production, materials used, and work orders. Prepare reports for management as necessary.
- **Collaboration**: Collaborate with other departments such as design, engineering, and logistics to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of projects.
- **Equipment Maintenance**: Oversee the maintenance and repair of fabrication equipment to ensure proper functioning and longevity.

**Job Requirements**:

- **Education**: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Vocational training or certifications in welding or steel fabrication are often preferred.
- **Experience**: Several years of experience in steel fabrication, welding, or a related field is essential. Prior experience in a supervisory or foreman role is highly beneficial.
- **Technical Skills**: Proficiency in steel fabrication techniques, welding processes, and ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. Knowledge of different types of steel and their properties is crucial.
- **Leadership Skills**: Strong leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. Good communication skills are essential for instructing workers and collaborating with other departments.
- **Problem-Solving**: Ability to identify problems and implement effective solutions. Critical thinking skills are necessary to troubleshoot technical issues and optimize production processes.
