**Description**

We are looking for an Assistant Head Teacher (Secondary - Inclusion) to join our growing school in August 2024. You must
- Be suitably qualified and experienced for this role (experience as a SENCO and hold, or be prepared to work towards UK Qualified Teacher Status)
- Hold relevant specialist qualifications, such as NASENCO, PGCE Inclusion, CPT3A etc.
- Understand and believe in our school vision which is to be - a happy community school with amazing learning at its heart where pupils are empowered to make choices, engage in meaningful learning experiences and make exceptional progress.

Key qualities and skills:

- To be a credible leader with a range of secondary teaching and leadership experience
- To be able to lead learning across the secondary for so that lessons are engaging and relevant, enabling every child (and especially identified ‘groups’ of pupils) to make as much progress as possible
- To be able to develop positive working relationships with all members of your team and the school community
- To be able to use initiative, be flexible, fun, proactive and positive

Core purposes:

- To promote our school to the local community to increase pupil numbers and reach our pupil numbers target
- To be accountable for ensuring that children are inspired, motivated and equipped to make as much progress with their learning as possible through ‘amazing learning’
- To work collaboratively with colleagues and families
- To have a positive impact on the work of the school

Key duties include:

- To ensure children are safe and well cared for at all times.
- To undertake the role and duties as required as the named Secondary SENCO.
- To ensure effective communication and direct the work of others - such as LSAs & ELL Tutors.
- Professional development of all staff - including coaching and delivering CPD.
- As Assistant Head Teacher for Inclusion - ensure teaching and learning is of the highest standards and personalised to specifically meet individual needs of all children across the phase.
- Ensure the school maintains a positive, respectful and inclusive ethos.

In addition, all staff are required to carry out any tasks required by the school or the regional office to facilitate the smooth day to day running of the school.

To be line managed by the Head of Secondary and the Head of Inclusion

Hours of work
- 7.25am-4.00pm Sunday to Thursday and 12:00pm on Friday, plus occasional evening and weekend work as required as a Senior Leader.

Holidays
- as per the school KHDA approved calendar plus working for five days during the school holiday.

**Person Specification**
- Excellent levels of written and spoken English (bilingual English-Arabic desirable).
- Unceasingly optimistic and a ‘can do’ attitude - calm, kind and professional with all members of the school community
- Can meet deadlines by effective planning and time management
- Experience of working in an 11-18 school environment
- A proven track record of securing excellent outcomes for groups of pupils
