Inks/colour Matcher

To prepare and supply suitably matched inks to production as per the production schedule and in the most economical way.
- Preparing ink according to PMS, and colour standards as per job requirements.
- Maintaining stock level in the ink kitchen.
- Checking stock of ink from the warehouse.
- Pre-plan the ink requirement according to the job received.
- Maintaining stock level for UV varnish and adhesives
- Responsible for matching colors as required for the job to be printed.
- Responsible for making ‘Ink consumption report' daily for work orders.
- Inform production management as and when new stock of ink required.
- Making colour standards for special and family colour jobs.
- Maintaining log for colour standards data for family label for all jobs.
- Assist on all machines during set up whenever possible and required.
- Cleaning of ink pans/buckets from time to time.
- Communication with supervisors, printers and managers.
- Submitting reports of ink stock in the ink kitchen on a monthly basis to production management.
- Overall housekeeping of the department.

**Skills, Knowledge, Experience Required**
- Diploma in printing technology. Industry related courses and qualification preferred.
- Thorough knowledge and skills of applicable machines utilized within the department.
- Thorough knowledge of printing technologies and processes.
- Skill in both verbal and written communication.
- Must be able to thrive in a team environment and work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Knowledge of chemicals and ink mixing systems.

**Functional Competencies Required**
- Good judgement for colour matches.
- Excellent eye for colour for mixing inks and also for any on press adjustments.
