We are searching for a Conflicts Advisor to join our Group Compliance team in Sharjah.

This role’s main objective is to ensure the firm is complying with conflict checking rules and procedures when taking on new matters, including the evaluation of conflict search results, following up with lawyers and the Conflicts of Interest Committee as required, and administering and maintaining the firm’s conflicts database/system.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Reviewing and analysing conflict search results following initial search by secretary or lawyers
- Following up with secretaries and lawyers to ensure internal discussions are being had to clear any potential conflicts.
- Escalating and liaising with the Head of Quality Assurance/Conflicts Committee as appropriate.
- Approving the clearance of conflicts so that the Compliance team can open a new matter.
- Assisting with the development and maintenance of the firm’s conflict checking systems
- Contribute, as required, to projects aimed at improving compliance knowledge across the firm
- Reviewing engagement terms between the firm and its clients

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a paralegal or compliance role, ideally within a law firm
- Strong work ethic and sense of ownership and responsibility
- Drives results through teamwork, people, communication and influence
- Comfortable with change, ambiguity, debate, conflict and informed risk taking
- Willingness to make decisions, while ensuring buy in from stakeholders
- Desire for continuous professional development
- Self-motivated
- Organised and systematic
