Job Title: QA/QC Manager - Rig Repair and Refurbishment

Location: [SHJ/AUH]

Department: Quality Assurance/Quality Control

Reports to: OPERATIONS MANAGER

Job Summary:
The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of rig repair and refurbishment projects. This role involves developing and implementing quality assurance and quality control processes, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The QA/QC Engineer will work closely with project teams to identify and mitigate quality-related issues, ensuring that all work meets the highest standards of safety and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

- **Quality Assurance and Control**:

- Develop and implement QA/QC procedures for rig repair and refurbishment projects.
- Conduct inspections and tests on equipment, materials, and processes to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Monitor and document quality performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- **Project Management Support**:

- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to integrate QA/QC processes into project plans.
- Review and approve project documentation, including quality plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and material certificates.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure their compliance with quality requirements.
- **Regulatory Compliance**:

- Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and standards, ensuring all activities comply with relevant laws and guidelines.
- Prepare and maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and audits for regulatory compliance purposes.
- Assist in the preparation for and response to regulatory audits and inspections.
- **Continuous Improvement**:

- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing quality processes and performance.
- Conduct root cause analysis of quality issues and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
- Provide training and support to project teams on QA/QC best practices and procedures.
- **Safety**:

- Ensure all QA/QC activities are conducted in accordance with safety protocols and procedures.
- Promote a culture of safety and quality within the organization.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 -10 years of experience in QA/QC within the oil and gas industry, specifically in rig repair and refurbishment.
- Strong knowledge of API (American Petroleum Institute) and ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) quality standards and auditing processes.
- Experience with inspection and testing techniques, including non-destructive testing (NDT).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certification in QA/QC (e.g., ASQ, CWI) is preferred.

Working Conditions:

- The role may require travel to various project sites and offshore locations.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Must be able to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
