Job Description

Basic Function

To assist in the operation and maintenance of FMEs small boat fleet.

Primary

**Responsibilities**:
Operations- Maintain FMEs small boat fleet - perform basic engine servicing, fibre-glass repairs and other maintenance duties as required- Perform role of helmsman on projects as required- Ensure all Safety related items are serviced and maintained as per procedures - inform Diving Supervisor/Project Manager department of any short comings.- Other duties as required.

Administration- Maintain small boat log books and maintenance records as required.

Specific Additional Duties- Actively participate in adherence to and improvement of the company Management System on Quality and HSE related issues.

Principal Working Relationships- Work with all departments as required

Qualifications required:
- Secondary level.- International Small Boat Coxswain Certificate- OPITO BOSIET- International VHF Operator’s Certificate- Offshore Medical certificate of Fitness- First Aid Certification

Skills / experience required to do the job:
- Good understanding of the English language (Marlins Test may be required)- Ability to swim (a “swim test” may be conducted on mobilisation)- Experience in plotting a voyage and piloting a diving work boat- Knowledge of 4 and 2 point moorings- Facility in reversing a boat trailer (Valid Driver’s License for country of operation)- Knowledge and skill of boat launch and recovery- Acclimated to working outdoors in the Gulf region during summer- Experienced with manual handling of loads, in restricted confines
