Junior Legal Counsel

Position Summary
- Conduct thorough reviews of contracts and provide support to the requesting teams
- Work on and/or initiate projects to enhance the overall efficiency of the function
- Support the HOD in requests and presentations
- Provide day to day legal advice to the business partners

Role and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an overall Strategy for Government Relations in SGE
- Monitor the Regulatory and Political Landscape for Threats and Opportunities
- Raise awareness of local issues that may have global implications and coordinate with Global Public Affairs Group
- Develop, deliver informative and engaging local communications regularly
- Monitor and compile weekly reports and reporting matters to RHQ
- Manage all legal and compliance matters related to estore in relation to sales, marketing, digital and corporate
- Obtain the needed and necessary licenses and permits
- Monitor government law change (Report on time) (UAE/Qatar/Bahrain/Kuwait/Oman)
- Contract review
- Understand the business needs and provide sound advice to minimize risks in all channels
- Understand basic corporate governance and structure
- Advise on disputes and potential disputes
- Understand the commercial relationships in the business

Skills and Qualifications
- Western qualified
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience either in-house or private practice or both
- Excellent problem solving skills with impeccable attention to detail
- Significant ad hoc project experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Ethical, on-time, dedicated and committed (overall a good wok ethic)
- Knowledge of UAE and GCC labor laws except KSA
- Thorough understanding of commercial laws in the region and in general
- Project oriented - legal projects to be implemented over the course of the year(s)
- Corporate governance skills and corporate/commercial advocacy
