**Responsibilities**:

- Design and implement scalable, high-performance APIs for web services.
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks.
- Implement security protocols and measures to protect data and user privacy.
- Work closely with database administrators to design efficient database schemas and queries.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends in backend development.
- Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and other collaborative development practices.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technical design discussions.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as a backend developer or similar role.
- Proficiency in server-side programming languages such as Python, Java, Node.js, etc.
- Experience with web frameworks such as Django, Flask, Spring Boot, Express.js, etc.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with database technologies such as SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience with microservices architecture and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with message brokers and asynchronous task queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka, Celery).
- Knowledge of GraphQL and related technologies.
- Understanding of web security concepts such as OAuth, JWT, SSL/TLS.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
