**Job Title**: Patient Helper

**Job Summary**:
A Patient Helper, also known as a Patient Care Assistant or Nursing Assistant, provides support and assistance to patients in healthcare settings, such as hospitals, clinics, or long-term care facilities. This role involves helping patients with activities of daily living, providing emotional support, and ensuring their comfort and well-being under the supervision of medical staff.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Patient Assistance**:
1. Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.

2. Help patients with mobility, transfers, and positioning in beds or chairs to prevent pressure ulcers and maintain comfort.

**Nutritional Support**:
1. Serve meals and assist patients with eating, drinking, and feeding as needed.

2. Monitor patients' dietary intake and report any changes or concerns to medical staff.

**Hygiene and Comfort Care**:
1. Change bed linens, provide oral care, and assist with personal hygiene tasks.

2. Ensure patients' rooms are clean, organized, and comfortable, including tidying up bedside tables and arranging personal belongings.

**Emotional Support**:
1. Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, listening to their concerns and offering reassurance and encouragement.

2. Engage patients in conversation, activities, or diversional therapy to promote socialization and mental well-being.

**Mobility and Exercise**:
1. Assist patients with range of motion exercises, ambulation, and transfers as prescribed by physical therapists or medical staff.

2. Encourage and motivate patients to participate in rehabilitation activities and maintain mobility.

**Observation and Reporting**:
1. Monitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and overall condition, reporting any changes or abnormalities to nursing staff.

2. Document patient care activities, observations, and interventions accurately and promptly in medical records.

**Safety Measures**:
1. Follow infection control protocols and standard precautions to prevent the spread of infections.

2. Assist with fall prevention strategies and use proper body mechanics and lifting techniques to ensure patient and staff safety.

**Collaboration**:
1. Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.

2. Communicate effectively with team members and report any concerns or issues related to patient care.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a certified nursing assistant (CNA) program or equivalent training is preferred.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, such as a hospital or nursing home, is desirable but not required.
- Compassion, empathy, and patience in providing care and support to patients.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Physical fitness for assisting with patient mobility and performing caregiving tasks.

**Working Conditions**:

- Patient Helpers work in healthcare facilities, including hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and rehabilitation centers.
- The role involves frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting of patients or equipment.

Pay: From AED3,000.00 per month
