Holiday Inn & Suites Dubai Science Park, a recently opened hotel, is looking for an creative **Pastry Chef **to join their extraordinary team Ideally located in the heart of Dubai Science Park, in the most sought after residential area of Dubai. Minutes away from mega malls, magnificent Jumeirah Beaches, world’s leading tourist attractions and Parks, auto drome and over 5 championship golf courses. The Holiday Inn & Suites at Dubai Science Park will include 240 hotel rooms and suites and 84 one-bedroom apartments, anchor F&B offerings and an extensive 1026sqm cutting-edge meeting and events facilities.

**What is the job?**

Prepares and presents a broad array of cakes, pastries, desserts, cakes, petits fours which meet customer expectations. Promotes the desired work culture around the five core values of Aim higher, Work better together, Celebrate the difference, Do the right thing & Show we care. and Service of the InterContinental Hotels Group and the brand ethos.

**Your day to day**
- As a Pastry Chef, you will manage all aspects of the Pastry Kitchen.
- Supervise the preparation, baking, and finishing of desserts, bread, and baked goods in accordance with departmental quality standards.

**RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS**:

- Demonstrate Awareness of OH&S policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines and ensure your direct reports do the same
- Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures
- Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly.
- Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers
- Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirements

**What we need from **you**
- Proven experience as Pastry Chef, baker, or relevant role in a 4 or 5-star hotel
- Degree or certificate in Culinary Arts and Pastry; 5+ years’ experience as a chef including at least 2 years in supervisory/managerial capacity
- In-depth knowledge of HACCP norms and hygiene standards
- Demonstrating a ‘service’ attitude
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Highly organized and focused
