**POSITION**

Boat Captain for Tenders to 110 m Motor Yacht

**LOCATION**

Middle East - Europe

The Client will assist with the work visa and relocation if not local

**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION**

The position of Captain of tenders on a 110-meter motor yacht entails significant responsibility and leadership within the yacht's operational structure. The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the safe operation and management of all tenders associated with the yacht. This includes not only the operation of the tenders themselves but also the safety of passengers and crew during tender operations. Tender 11.5m

**QUALIFICATIONS / LICENSES / SKILLS**
- **1. Captain's License**: A valid captain's license is essential. This might include licenses such as the Master of Yachts 3000 or higher, or equivalent certifications issued by maritime authorities like the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), United States Coast Guard (USCG), or other recognized bodies.
- 2**. STCW Certification**: Compliance with the Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) is usually required. This includes basic safety training, security training, and other relevant courses.
- **3. Experience**: Extensive experience in operating and managing tenders is crucial. This includes piloting various types of tenders, navigating in different environments, and handling different sea conditions. Prior experience as a tender captain or in a similar role on a luxury yacht is highly valued.
- **4. Navigation Skills**: Strong navigation skills are essential for safely piloting tenders in various conditions. This includes proficiency in using navigational instruments, charts, and electronic navigation systems.
- **5. Mechanical Knowledge**: A good understanding of marine engines, propulsion systems, and basic mechanical troubleshooting is important for overseeing the maintenance and operation of tenders.
- **6. Safety Awareness**: Deep knowledge of safety procedures and regulations is critical for ensuring the safety of passengers and crew during tender operations. This includes familiarity with safety equipment, emergency protocols, and risk assessment.
- **7. Leadership and Communication**: Strong leadership skills are necessary for supervising tender crew and effectively communicating instructions and safety protocols. The ability to remain calm and decisive in emergency situations is also important.
- **8. Customer Service Skills**: Excellent customer service skills are essential for providing a high level of service to guests during tender operations. This includes being courteous, attentive, and accommodating to guest needs.
- **9.Problem-Solving Abilities**: The ability to think quickly and make sound decisions in challenging situations is crucial for a boat captain of tenders. This might involve adapting to changing weather conditions, resolving mechanical issues, or handling unforeseen obstacles.
- **10. Language Skills** Proficiency in English is typically required, and additional language skills may be beneficial, especially if the yacht serves an international clientele.

**DUTIES**
- **1.** **Safe Navigation**: The Captain of tenders is responsible for navigating the tenders safely, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and best practices. This involves expertise in piloting various types of tenders in different weather conditions and environments.
- **2**.** Maintenance and Inspection**: Overseeing the maintenance, repair, and inspection of all tenders to ensure they are in optimal working condition. This includes regular checks of engines, hull integrity, safety equipment, and electronics.
- **3**. **Crew Training and Supervision**: Training and supervising the tender crew to ensure they are proficient in operating tenders safely and efficiently. This may involve conducting drills and providing ongoing education on safety procedures.
- 4**. Guest Service**: Ensuring that guests are transported safely and comfortably to and from the yacht using tenders. This may involve coordinating with other crew members to provide exceptional guest service and accommodate any special requests or needs.
- **5. Emergency Response**: Being prepared to respond to emergencies or accidents involving the tenders, including coordinating rescue operations and providing first aid if necessary.
- **6. Communication and Coordination**: Maintaining clear communication with the yacht's captain, crew, and shore-based personnel to coordinate tender operations effectively. This includes communicating weather updates, itinerary changes, and any other relevant information.
