The InterContinental® Ras Al Khaimah Mina Al Arab Resort and SPA comprises 351 keys, a health club, spa and two pools. Covering an area of 43,770 sq. m, the resort is a short drive from famous archaeological sites such as Dhayah Fort and Sheba’s Palace.
**Your day to day**
The role is varied and can be demanding with an intense workload that will need to be delivered accurately and always on time. The Sous Chef will show incredible attention to detail, along with the ability to pick things up quickly - therefore, being diplomatic and polite at all times is important. Assertiveness accompanied by respect and good emotional intelligence is an essential quality.
The Sous Chef must be familiar with HACCP standards and food hygiene regulations, provides training to all employees in their section, ensures cleanliness, maintains comprehensive product knowledge on ingredients and equipment and many other activities which are necessary for the position.
**What we need from you**
This role requires a highly organized individual who is energetic, self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative and the ability to multi-task, deal with a lot of pressure and demands whilst remaining calm and working effectively is essential. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and build respect and rapport at all levels are essential.
