**Responsibilities**:
- **Preparation of Equipment**:
- Set up and calibrate anesthesia delivery systems, including anesthesia machines, monitors, and intravenous infusion pumps.
- Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in working order prior to the start of surgical procedures.
- **Patient Monitoring**:
- Assist in positioning patients for anesthesia administration and surgical procedures.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and temperature, before, during, and after anesthesia administration.
- Alert medical personnel to any abnormalities or changes in patients' condition during procedures.
- **Anesthesia Administration Assistance**:
- Prepare and administer medications, including anesthetic agents and adjunctive drugs, under the direction and supervision of an anesthesiologist.
- Assist in airway management techniques, such as endotracheal intubation and mask ventilation, to ensure adequate oxygenation and ventilation during procedures.
- Provide support during regional anesthesia procedures, such as spinal or epidural anesthesia, by assisting with patient positioning and monitoring.
- **Intraoperative Support**:
- Assist in the insertion of invasive monitoring devices, such as arterial catheters and central venous lines, as needed.
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields for surgical procedures, including draping and covering of equipment and instruments.
- Anticipate the needs of the anesthesia team and surgical staff, providing prompt assistance and support as required.
- **Postoperative Care**:
- Assist in the safe transfer of patients from the operating room to post-anesthesia care units (PACU) or intensive care units (ICU), ensuring continuity of care.
- Monitor patients' recovery from anesthesia and surgical procedures, providing comfort measures and support as needed.
- Document relevant information, including medication administration, vital signs, and patient responses, in medical records according to established protocols.
**Qualifications**:
- Certification as an Anesthesia Technologist (CAT) or equivalent credential required.
- Valid DOH License
- Completion of an accredited anesthesia technology program or equivalent education and training.
- Knowledge of anesthesia principles, techniques, and equipment, including anesthesia delivery systems, monitoring devices, and pharmacology.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Attention to detail and the ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications preferred.
