This is a dynamic, fast paced role in the Corporate Services team responsible for Workplace Strategy, Design and Construction that requires technical expertise, leadership and excellent senior stakeholder management.

The role holder will lead the shaping of workplace strategy, design of spaces and execution of workspace delivery in line with the Bank’s latest vision, design and space standards, and construction delivery process. The role will be responsible to leverage and enhance value from the Corporate Services supply chain and all other direct supplier relationships related to workplace, design, and construction. The role will manage the performance of these suppliers and partners in the delivery and execution of services. Playing a critical role in managing risks associated to the workplace and in the construction delivery process, the role will be responsible for the oversight of the capital plan, the design, project management and construction process in line with agreed SOPs.

This role will report to the Head of Corporate Services (MENAT), the role holder’s summary of tasks will include the following.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Understand the available data and metrics to support decision making and recommendations
- Work with countries and the wider CS team to determine the appropriate workplace solutions in each market
- Regular dissemination of information, conducting briefing and awareness sessions across all sites
- Use of data for building business cases and recommendations
- Oversees and drives workplace strategy and vision for the region
- Plan and manage engagement activity to build stakeholder understanding of workplace topics and opportunities
- Appropriately balance workplace strategy with cost considerations in the creation of workplace strategy recommendations to stakeholders
- Manage the supplier partners and ensure delivery is completed within specified KPI’s and scope requirements
- Understand and implement best practice change management to improve engagement
- All key work streams and stakeholders are kept up to date of key developments and opportunities in the design space
- Ensure the annual capital plan is accurate, and that key priority projects are properly funded and planned for
- Oversee project activity and monitor performance against required SOPs, deliverables, and outcomes
- Engage with project delivery teams to ensure risks are managed, and any cost or programme risks are escalated, mitigated and reported in a timely manner
- Review quality of project management, procurement and execution of works
- Appropriately balance risk considerations with cost considerations in the management and delivery of capital projects
Requirements
- Must have a university degree with relevant experience
- Strong leadership skills
- An innovative and creative approach to workplace
- Must have experience in managing senior stakeholders
- Comprehensive understanding of a broad range of workplace and construction activities and issues faced by large corporate organisations
- Understanding of trends and opportunities related to corporate workspace
- Comprehensive understanding of how large banks operate, key challenges faced in the operating environment including regulation.
- Ability to work independently, interact with senior professionals within the Bank and within service providers and can make recommendations and decisions on the appropriate course of action over a wide spectrum of real estate matters
- Consultative and client-centric approach in service delivery, supported by strong problem-solving skills
- Highly adaptable and be able to work in a dynamic working environment with a strong drive and be able to work under pressure
- A high degree of professionalism and ability to stay calm when handling sensitive and critical situations and incidents.
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship building and stakeholder management skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
