**Job Title: Junior Accountant(Assistant) - Freight Forwarding**

**Location**: Al Qusais, United Arab Emirates (UAE)

**Experience**: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Junior Accountant in the freight forwarding/Shipping industry in the UAE

As a Junior Accountant specializing in Freight Forwarding, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial accounting, reporting, and analysis within our organization. Leveraging your expertise in accounting principles and industry-specific practices, you will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, streamline accounting processes, and support strategic decision-making. Your responsibilities will include:
**1. Financial Reporting and Analysis**:

- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with UAE accounting standards (IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct variance analysis and performance reviews to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
- Generate financial reports, forecasts, and projections to support management decision-making and strategic planning initiatives.

**2. General Ledger Management**:

- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger system, ensuring accurate recording and classification of financial transactions.
- Perform reconciliations of accounts, bank statements, and intercompany transactions to identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Review and approve journal entries, adjustments, and accruals to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial records.

**3. Accounts Payable and Receivable**:

- Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer invoicing.
- Monitor aging reports, credit limits, and payment terms to optimize cash flow management and minimize delinquencies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to resolve billing discrepancies, disputes, and payment issues.

**4. Budgeting and Forecasting**:

- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans in alignment with business objectives and strategic priorities.
- Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and provide insights and recommendations to management for cost control and optimization.

**5. Compliance and Audit Support**:

- Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations, accounting standards, and statutory requirements in the UAE.
- Coordinate and support external audits, including preparation of audit schedules, responses to auditor inquiries, and resolution of audit findings.

**6. Process Improvement and Efficiency**:

- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance system capabilities, and improve workflow efficiency.
- Implement best practices and internal controls to safeguard assets, mitigate risks, and ensure financial integrity.

**7. Team Leadership and Development**:

- Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support organizational goals and objectives, promoting teamwork and collaboration across departments.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or ACCA certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Junior Accountant in the freight forwarding industry in the UAE, with a strong understanding of logistics and supply chain operations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Sound knowledge of UAE accounting standards (IFRS), tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and build positive working relationships.
- Proactive mindset, with a commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence in financial management.
