- Accounting or Finance Degree - Bachelor / Masters / ACCA / CMA
- Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Accounts and/or Finance
- UAE experience is essential for understanding and working knowledge of UAE local law & regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills and strong interpersonal and negotiations skills are essentials.
- Must be friendly, adaptable and have high attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and have excellent time management.

**The role involves, but is not limited to, some of the following**:

- To ensure compliance with standards & laws in the jurisdictions in which COYA operates - specifically UAE - locations include Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Oman, Doha, Riyadh, and any new openings.
- To make up part of the Corporate Team by supporting General Managers and Heads of Department in making decisions by delivering accurate & timely information and processes in a professional & controlled manner.
- Being the main point of contact with external accountants - Paperchase on all accounting processes. Ensuring management accounts are prepared within agreed timelines, suppliers are paid as per agreed terms and accounting treatment is in line with jurisdiction standards.
- Ownership of monthly reporting to the board of directors, including P&L, Balance Sheet & Cashflow. Understanding variances to budget and prior year and agreeing entries to supporting documentation.
- Understanding of financial systems, how they operate and automating where relevant.
- Providing support & training to operations to ensure correct processes and procedures are in place.
- Ownership of end of year audit & statutory accounts across all UAE locations.
- Understanding of tax compliance for all UAE locations, including VAT, and Corporation Tax.
- Attending weekly head of department meetings - either on site or remotely
- Management and development of 2 finance assistants.
- Working closely with management contracts, to ensure reporting is received within agreed timelines.
