**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Primary_
- Prepare and implement the compliance policies, procedures to ensure the business is complying with regulatory requirements in the regions under the particular oversight of this role.
- Ensure responsibilities are appropriately discharged with respect to compliance with anti-money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud prevention and financial sanctions rules.
- Respond appropriately and punctually to meet any outstanding risks or compliance breaches.
- Take the lead in shaping a compliance culture and staff behaviour in line with the expectations of regulators in the particular region(s) allocated.
- Interpret relevant legislation and regulations, develop and implement compliance standards.
- Train and develop staff on regulatory requirements.
- Help co-ordinate and implement change across the business while ensuring the highest standards of compliance.
- Review and produce the Company’s compliance matrices, frameworks and plans with particular reference to the global operating model and the region(s) under oversight.
- Produce compliance reports and appropriate management information.
- Engage with regulatory bodies as required.
- Advise, review and provide challenge on issues across the firm.
- Establish and drive compliance monitoring activities.
- Implement controls designed to detect any risk of failure to comply with regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for regulatory horizon scanning and communicating changes to the business.
- Provide guidance and training to the Senior Management Team on regulatory requirements.
- Any other duties, responsibilities and/or objectives as may be determined by the Company from time to time.

- To plan, direct and manage the activities within the region(s) allocated, taking responsibility for promoting and maintaining procedures and policies that enable and encourage optimum performance of the team and other resources.
- Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members globally and across the company.
- Actively follow and promote all safety and security policies and ensure that fellow employees and visitors are doing the same so as to ensure a safe and secure workplace for all.
- Contributing as a senior manager in the compliance organisation, working to implement and develop the transformation of the compliance organisation and the business and implementing the global operating model in cooperation with compliance colleagues worldwide.

**ABOUT YOU**
- Degree qualified
- At least 5 years of experience working in Compliance fields within capital markets/ financial markets/Commodities Trading or Investment Banking
- Having held the SMF16/17 previously, advantageous
- At least 5+ years of experience in Heading Compliance Functions and Managing teams
- Knowledge and significant experience within a compliance role for a Financial Services corporation operating in the UAE regulatory environment.
- Knowledge of commercial & corporate compliance and regulatory requirements in the UAE is a requirement.
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Arabic is preferred and any additional languages would be deemed an advantage.
