Janitor

**Job Summary**:
Jobs are divided in to two tasks, i.e. Food runner and runner. The Runner main task and responsibility are related to FOH housekeeping. The Food Runner task is to transport/delivery food served from the kitchen (Dispatch/BOH) to its designated location (i.e. customer table or reception for take away). Runner will be assigned the task of Food Runner by the FOH Supervisors at the start of each shift.

Runner

A runner will be assigned to a team of one captain waiter/waitress and two waiters/waitress for a section of eight tables. Runner will not handle any foods items (including deserts) that are to be served to the guests at any time, but they can bring beverages from the juice bar to assist the waiters.

**Food Runner**

Food runner will be in present in the dispatch section at all times and will also be under direct control of the kitchen supervisors. Food runners are not to involve in basic FOH operation unless deemed absolutely necessary. Food runners are to execute their primary task only and move to secondary task when requested by the supervisor or management ONLY.

**Runners Task**:
v **Clear & clean dining table**

Ø Clean the dining table as per restaurants standards

Ø Clean and check the surrounding area of the dining table which includes cousins, chairs and floor.

Ø Remove any dirt immediately during their shift regardless of work load

v **Clear tray full of used dishes**

Ø After removal of dishes from guest, tray full of dishes should be immediately taken to the kitchens dishwashing section.

Ø These trays full of dirty or used tableware and cutleries should NOT be kept in front of diners therefore should be removed immediately.

Ø Runners will also clear the table on their section with the assistance of the waiter/waitress.

Ø Runners should also be aware of the surrounding environment and guests, while cleaning guests should not be disturbed or feel uncomfortable in any way.

v **Clean restaurant premises and washroom**

Ø Two runners (one male and one female) will be assigned to clean the washroom per shift. Must ensure the washroom is clean, dry, odorless, stocked with toilet paper and soap.

Ø Floors and surrounding areas are to also be kept clean; if any dirt or garbage is visible or found it should be removed immediately.

v **Assist waiter/waitress as required**

Ø Assisting in daily task such as arranging cutleries, tableware and condiments as well as getting for the bill. Runners are NOT to serve food to the guest at any time.

Ø Runner will also assist waiters to prepare greetings of the day.

**Food Runners Task**:
v **Carry food from kitchen**

Ø Dispatch will provide the food for each table and should be carried to the waiter/waitress of that section. If waiter/waitress is unavailable, the tray should be handed over to the captain waiter/waitress.

Ø When there are any take away orders, Food runner must deliver the ready food (packed) to the reception and handed over to the cashier. Food runner should also be aware of the content and communicate it to the cashier.

Ø Food runners should also be aware of the table number that the food is served to, if required reconfirm it with the kitchen supervisor or the kitchen dispatch.

**Salary**: AED800.00 - AED1,000.00 per month

- Al-Ayn: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
