**About the Role**
**Client/Project Management**
- **Oversee all major deliverables** by developing a vision and strategy and delegating work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- **Thinking strategically** and providing excellent attention to detail to deliver outstanding client service
- **Leading** **client calls and meetings** in an articulate, poised, organized manner, while mentoring team members on how to engage with clients
- **Over-communicating** **with senior management **in the US, Europe and MENA on progress and challenges, identifying problems and formulating solutions before they arise
- **Understanding** **background and nuance across our priority issue areas** to form compelling arguments and provide strategic counsel to clients
- **Supporting building **a team structure for remote staff members including quality control systems and standard operating procedures
- **Coaching** **junior staff members** on writing, client-facing interactions, and time management skills
- **Attending events and meetings with senior management **on behalf of clients

**Media & Communications**
- **Making complex concepts accessible and actionable** to a wide audience by developing strategies for creating key messages, press releases, pitches and other media-related content, fact sheets, social media posts and creative digital materials and mobilizing teams accordingly
- **Build strong relationships with top-tier media outlets **in the region by serving as a key liaison between journalists and relevant spokespeople, and coordination across GHS offices and with other GHS teams
- **Elevating the voice and expertise of high-level influencers** by developing and editing opinion pieces at key moments, prepping them for interviews, and providing ongoing counsel
- **Identifying and leveraging trends** in media coverage, key announcements, new evidence and high-level conversations to further strategies that work on behalf of client interests
- **Performing day-to-day** strategic communications account work, with assistance from more junior and senior colleagues, for our high profile, globally recognized clients

**Advocacy**
- **Identifying strategic moments **to amplify our clients’ goals
- **Managing partner relationships** through careful coordination and message alignment
- **Supporting the planning of high-level events** including developing agendas or presentations, coordinating with speakers and aligning on messaging and talking points
- **Building new coalitions of support for an issue** with dedicated outreach, organization and relationship management
- **Following and tracking trends** in global health policies and funding opportunities to continuously innovate on strategy

**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5-7 years of work experience in communications or public relations working ideally with pharma clients and in an agency setting
- Exceptional writing ability in English, with experience drafting press releases, op-eds, advocacy reports, speaking notes and other written deliverables
- Strong experience building relationships and engaging national and regional media, pitching and placing op-eds, organizing press briefings, workshops or other events involving the media
- Strong project management skills and ability to drive multiple workstreams, lead client-facing interactions and bring projects to the finish line
- Experience managing teams to achieve ambitious results

**Valuable Qualifications**
- Fluency in Arabic and French (written and spoken) is highly desirable
- Strong network of local and regional journalists and knowledge of relevant MENA outlets
- Strong understanding and experience working on public health issues in the Middle East/North Africa (MENA) region
