Marine Foreman

**Job Summary**:
The Marine Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of personnel engaged in marine and offshore operations, ensuring that all tasks are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with regulatory and company standards. The role involves planning, directing, and managing daily operations, maintenance activities, and the deployment of resources to meet project requirements.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Supervision and Leadership**:

- Lead a team of marine workers, including deckhands, riggers, and other crew members.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to work schedules and safety protocols.
- Provide training and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence.
- **Operational Oversight**:

- Oversee the loading, unloading, and securing of cargo, equipment, and supplies on vessels.
- Coordinate with other departments and personnel to ensure smooth and efficient marine operations.
- Monitor the condition of equipment and vessels, arranging for maintenance and repairs as needed.
- **Safety and Compliance**:

- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and drills, and enforce safety protocols.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- **Resource Management**:

- Manage the allocation and utilization of manpower, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain accurate records of activities, resource usage, and project progress.
- Assist in budget planning and cost control by monitoring expenses and identifying areas for cost-saving measures.
- **Project Coordination**:

- Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met.
- Prepare and review work plans, schedules, and specifications.
- Report on project status, including progress, issues, and delays to management.
- **Technical Support**:

- Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for marine operations and equipment.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements.
- Recommend improvements and innovations to enhance operational efficiency.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain detailed logs of work performed, incidents, and equipment usage.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on operational activities and performance metrics.
- Ensure that all documentation complies with regulatory requirements and company policies.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or maritime training preferred.
- Relevant certifications in marine operations or safety (e.g., STCW, OSHA) are advantageous.
- **Experience**:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in marine operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Proven experience in handling maritime equipment and understanding of marine operations.
- **Skills**:

- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in problem-solving and decision-making.
- Knowledge of marine safety regulations and standards.
