**Job Summary**

Military Trainer will operate as part of a multi-national Training Team located in Africa. The focus for training is to prepare students to operate effectively at the small unit level and training will culminate in a Final Certification Training event. This position requires experience in small, medium, and heavy weapons training and employment, marksmanship principles, small unit tactics to include patrolling, manual and explosive methods of entry, and urban close quarter battle. The Military Trainer must be proficient with combat first aid at the point of injury and ground evacuation procedures. The Military Trainer must also have experience with military demolition and Improvised Explosive Device awareness techniques. This position requires deep understanding of Dismounted Infantry small unit operations in a contested environment with a demonstrated ability to train and certify small unit tactics.

**Essential Functions**
- Support students understanding of small unit team roles and responsibilities to enable them to operate effectively as small units
- Provide marksmanship instruction on light, medium, and heavy Infantry squad weapons
- Provide instruction on small unit formations, movement techniques, actions on contact, patrolling, and patrol base operations
- Provide instruction and demonstrate manual and explosive methods of entry in an urban environment
- Provide instruction in close quarter battle and urban close quarter fighting with emphasis on entry techniques, positioning, and weapon orientation
- Provide instruction on basic military demolition and Improvised Explosive Device (IED) awareness
- Provide instruction in combat medical care at the point of injury and ground evacuation procedures
- Plan and execute a final training exercise to certify student in small unit tactics, weapons employment, patrolling and patrol base operations, close quarter battle, and medical treatment and evacuation
- Document lessons learned throughout the plan, prepare, execute training process
- Exhibit culturally appropriate interpersonal and negotiation skills

**Required Qualifications**

US, NATO or Australian Infantry or Special Operations Trainer with extensive operational and training experience in small unit operations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with mínimal oversight in a variety of training roles
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a team environment
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (emphasis on Microsoft Word and PowerPoint)
- Possess a valid Passport (with at least 15 months to expiration)
- Associate-degree in training, education, or a related field
- Five or more years’ operations and training experience with US or NATO Infantry or Special Operations Forces
- Ten or more years of training and executing small unit operations in contested urban environments
- Served in multiple supervisory small unit leadership and/or training roles within the last ten years
- Served as a trainer at the Joint Readiness Training Center or NATO equivalent
- Work history in Middle East or Africa is desired

**Education and/or Experience**:

- Associate-degree in training, education, or a related field
- Five or more years’ operations and training experience with US or NATO Infantry or Special Operations Forces
- Ten or more years of training and executing small unit operations in contested urban environments
- Served in multiple supervisory small unit leadership and/or training roles within the last ten years
- Served as a trainer at the Joint Readiness Training Center or NATO equivalent
- Work history in Middle East or Africa is desired
