Bbs Draftsman

**Job Summary**:
The BBS Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) and reinforcement drawings to support construction activities. This role requires proficiency in CAD software and a thorough understanding of structural drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy in calculating and detailing the quantities, sizes, shapes, and positioning of steel reinforcement bars.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Preparation of Bar Bending Schedules**
- Create precise Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) for steel reinforcement in line with engineering designs and construction standards.
- Ensure accuracy in calculating quantities, dimensions, and bending shapes based on structural requirements.

2. **Drafting and Detailing**
- Prepare detailed reinforcement drawings, clearly showing bar sizes, shapes, and positions.
- Utilize CAD software to produce technical drawings, adhering to project specifications and guidelines.

3. **Interpretation of Structural Drawings**
- Interpret and analyze structural drawings to accurately prepare reinforcement schedules.
- Communicate with engineers to clarify and resolve any ambiguities or discrepancies in structural plans.

4. **Coordination and Collaboration**
- Collaborate with the engineering and construction teams to ensure alignment on reinforcement requirements.
- Assist site teams by providing updated schedules and drawings as necessary throughout the project.

5. **Quality Assurance**
- Verify that all BBS and reinforcement drawings meet quality and safety standards.
- Regularly update and maintain records of drawings and schedules for reference and quality control.

6. **Reporting and Documentation**
- Maintain organized records of BBS, drawings, and any modifications or revisions.
- Provide regular updates on the status of drawings and schedules to project managers and relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills:

- **Education**: Diploma in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
- **Experience**: 5+ years in drafting, with experience in BBS preparation preferred.

**Technical Skills**:

- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and reinforcement detailing.
- **Analytical Skills**: Ability to interpret complex structural drawings and specifications accurately.
- **Attention to Detail**: Keen eye for accuracy in calculations and drawings.

**Communication Skills**: Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineering and construction teams
