The Job Opportunity
We are looking for a HSQE Officer to plan and implement programs to provide a safe and healthy working environment for all personnel including planning of tours and inspections as well audits. He/She is expected to d rive the HSQE risk management process within the company, provide support and educate staff in risk analysis/hazard identification, and review and development of policies, procedures.

Key accountabilities Identify HSQE related training needs and provide HSE training to staff or coordinate the provision of external training. Participate in external and internal audits of this system as required. Determine, communicate, report and monitor the contract's Health and Safety KPIs and performance objectives to the General Manager, Team and SME SAE Department. Represent the contract at any HSQE related meetings and disseminate information to the team as required. Contribute to the wider SME Assurance Team and take action on behalf of the contract where required to do so.
Assist in implementing Serco’s HSQE Management System and i dentify and development of risk assessments for the contract and assist in maintaining a comprehensive risk register
Training and Induction of new employees in matters of health and safety, coordinating with the Training & Competency Coordinator for the retention of training related records
Ensure Workplace Inspections are carried out regularly in all areas of responsibility within the contract and communicate results to the General Manager

Specific requirements Practical experience in the principal HSQE functions Good knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and OHSAS 18001 Sound computer skills Good command of English language Knowledge of large operational projects. Project management qualification/experience Nebosh Certificate IV or diploma in occupational health and safety
