Solaris Administrator

**Responsibilities**:

- Administering Oracle Solaris 11.2 and 11.3 operating systems, including installing, configuring, and maintaining the software
- Upgrading Solaris 11 OS SRUs (Service Release Updates) through local repositories
- Administering LDOMs (Logical Domains) and SPARC OVMs (Oracle VM Servers for SPARC)
- Zone administration, including creating and managing zones for system resource isolation and delegation.
- Knowledge of Sun Cluster, a high availability cluster software for Oracle Solaris
- Implementing security enhancements on the Solaris operating system
- Coordinating with vendors, such as Oracle and Veritas, for support and management of the operating system and related software
- Working experience with Solaris SPARC, X86, and M-series servers
- Administering ZFS filesystems, including storage extension and hardware management

**Qualifications**:

- Strong understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking concepts
- Experience with the Oracle Solaris operating system, including administration and maintenance.
- Experience with Linux operating systems is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as computer science or information technology, is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with script writing and automation tools, such as Bash or Python, is a plus.
- Oracle Solaris certification, such as the Oracle Certified Expert, Oracle Solaris 11 System Administrator.

**Salary**: Up to AED18,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Abu Dhabi: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
