Assistant News Editor

The National, _the Middle East’s leading quality news title, is looking for an Assistant News Editor to join our Abu Dhabi newsroom.
You should be an experienced news editor, fluent in English, with an eye for a story and a gift for finessing copy into its most readable form. The job involves helping to run a team of reporters so strong management skills are required, as are organisation skills and an unflinching attention to detail.
You must have experience working for a news organisation, ideally in the UAE, and the ability to multi-task under the pressure of deadlines.
Knowledge of web analytics, SEO headlining and social media trends is an advantage.
Please note that this role will consist predominantly of late shifts up to 11pm.
- The National_ is one of the leading source of news about the UAE, Middle East, North Africa and beyond.
Based in Abu Dhabi, with an expanding team of 130 journalists here, we also have bureaux in London, Washington DC, Beirut, Riyadh and Cairo, as well as correspondents elsewhere in the Mena region and further afield.
