**JOB SUMMARY**

Provides inpatient and outpatient clinical dietetics services to patients in NMCSH, AL AIN.

Manages the outsourced food service.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- To provide a holistic clinical dietetics service to both IP and OP patients:

- Nutritional assessment of all referred IP and OP patients
- Developing a nutritional plan for such patients and documenting the same in the care plan.
- Prescribing the required meal-plan in accordance with EBM practice.
- Documenting the same in accordance with medical records policy.
- Liaising with nursing staff, pharmacy and food service to ensure delivery of the prescribed meal plan.
- Providing documented patient and family education
- Providing feedback to referring clinicians where required.
- To ensure ongoing professional learning in accordance with DoH requirements.
- To provide education to potential patients and other interest groups upon request.
- Adhere to specific OSH, ADHICS and other regulatory policies
- Manage the food services contract
- Monitor performance of the supplier against the contract.
- Perform regular audit and inspections as required by local guidelines.
- Assist in development of new menus
- Monitor food service operations and escalate any deviations.
- Ensure adherence to food policies
- Inspect meals for quality, taste and safety.
- Manage food and beverage budget

**OSH Specific Role& Responsibilities**

**_General_**:

- Responsible to be familiarize, comply and implement the OSHAD-SF& NMCSH Al Ain Internal OSHMS policies and procedures/SOP’s relevant to their department.
- Staff should notify/report all OSHMS hazards, incidents, accidents and near misses within the premises of NMCSH Al Ain to their supervisor or department OSH Facilitator as per the incident reporting protocol of NMCSH Al Ain.
- Staff are responsible to assist with the preparation of departmental risk assessment activities and implement the control measure within the timeframe.
- Staff are responsible to attend applicable department OSHMS training.
- Staff are not allowed to tamper or misuse any NMCSH Al Ain equipment’s and its property.
- Comply with all OSH instructions, safe working procedures and signages within the premises of NMCSH-Al Ain.
- Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedure.
- Not willfully or recklessly endanger anyone's health and safety;
- Make proper use of all machinery, tools, substances, etc., safety systems and of all Personal Protective Equipment provided for use at work.
- Participate in required OSH inspection, audit and OSH monitoring programs.

**_Specific_**:

- Ensure all relevant staffs have the required certificate of medical fitness and are licensed. Also ensure, concerning the health status of food handlers as per the legal requirements.
- Ensure procedures and policies for managing and monitoring dining facilities operations are in accordance with OSHAD-SF -CoP 19.0 - Occupational Food Handling and Food Preparation Areas.
- Ensure and monitor that all relevant staffs hold a valid certificate of medical fitness to handle food.
- Ensure to follow all food storage and food handling procedures set by OSHAD, DOH, ADFCA and NMCSH, Al Ain.
- Ensure that food handlers are trained and demonstrate knowledge and skills in food safety & good hygienic practices, as applicable to their assigned tasks, and have further obtained the official food safety training programs certification.

**_OSH Facilitator:_**
- To assist and support management in consultation and implementation of OSHMS and OSH improvements for the area representation.
- Ensure that employees follow and provide advice on the implementation of OSH policies, standards and procedures and ensure that they have received proper OSH training as applicable,
- Report any OSH relevant hazards, mishaps and incidents to the OSHMS Committee and EHS Dept.
- Raising OSH matters and issues to management on behalf of employees.
- Conduct or participate in OSH incident and outbreak investigation.
- Communication and awareness (in -service) raising of OSH requirements.
- Assisting with conducting OSH inspections of the workplace as per DRA or EHSMS Dept. plan.
- Follow up on remediation efforts to reduce hazards and risks if they are deemed necessary.
- Attending OSH Facilitator meetings as when requested by the EHSMS Department.
- Ensure that annually OSH Competency Assessment is conducted for all departmental staff, by evaluating the skills of staff. An action plan and competency records shall be maintained by as per the ADM-EHS-P014-12 OSH competency procedure
