Commis - Baker

We are looking for a Commis Baker to join our fast-growing specialized bakery team in Al Quoz, Dubai, UAE to support our retail, dine-in, catering and wholesale operations.

**Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to**:

- Supervise and control the work of the kitchen personnel in Bakery section and assist with overseeing the daily operation of the kitchen
- Ensure that the production, preparation, and presentation of food are always of the highest quality
- Take charge of daily food preparation and duties assigned by Head Chef to meet the high standards that are defined
- Ensure food portioning, serving, requisitions, costs, receiving, storage and sanitation are properly controlled
- Have full awareness of all menu items, their recipes, methods of production and presentation standards.
- Monitor and communicate all production issues including equipment malfunction, to Head Chef on a daily basis
- Have knowledge of food costs control in a wholesale and retail environment
- Supervision, guidance and coaching of junior team members including DCDP
- Maintaining consistent communication and a positive relationship with the team
- Carry out any other duties as required by senior kitchen team and management.

**Requirements**:

- Diploma / Certification in Culinary or equivalent or experience in lieu
- **3-5 years’ experience as a Commis or 3 years’ experience as a Commis at a bakery or a in luxury hotel as a Commis in the Bakery section**:

- **Experience specifically with Sourdough breads and Viennoiserie**:

- **Passionate about the art of baking and ability to bring ideas and handle issues**:

- **Desire to learn, contribute and grow with the brand**:

- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills and strong leadership skills. This position will require daily communication and hand off to the next shift for smooth operation and to meet the brand’s high-quality standards.
