Material Planner

Contract 3-6 months extendable
- Own visa required

- Office location: Jabal Ali (transport provided)

**Main Accountabilities of the JOB**

**Policies, Processes and Procedures**
- Implement all section policies, processes and procedures. Analyze and suggest improvements in current inventory systems, parameters, models and processes to continuously enhance the systems and planning policies.

**Budgets**
- Implement the section budgets and work plans.

**Continuous Improvement**
- Participate in initiatives for innovation and continuous improvement in pursuit of greater productivity.

**Reports**
- Provide inputs for the preparation of accurate and timely performance reports, as required. Report departmental issues timely to Supply Chain Management, to enable them to effectively take business decisions.

**Procurement Team Support**
- Coordinate with Purchase department for procurement, advise lead time of non-standard raw material and confirm availability to enable Central planning to respond promptly to customer enquiries. Support the Procurement team by providing feasible material requirements plans along with advice on optimizing the material inventory cost.

**Materials Planning**
- Prepare a periodic Raw Material Requirement Plan (MRP) and rolling forecast information for the customer/stock orders in SAP database to ensure their timely availability for manufacturing. Co-ordinate with planning team to maintain agreed levels of inventory for raw materials and packaging items to ensure uninterrupted flow of materials to meet the manufacturing requirement. Prepare efficient and effective material planning procedures, methods and parameter applicable to different types and categories in order to maintain cost effective and optimum level of materials inventory. Carry out timely and periodic review of non-moving and over stocked materials and obtain management approval to declare such items as surplus in order to reduce inventory and create opportunity for sale of surplus.

**Planning Team Support**
- Support the Planning department in taking ‘Make or Buy’ decisions in case of capacity constraints for in-house manufactured raw materials or out of range products, to meet the demand. Support the Planning department to map the Materials Planning process into SAP and monitor the effectiveness through monthly reports in SAP and Business Objects

**Job/ Person Specifications**

**- Knowledge and Qualifications**:
Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and inventory control. Exposure to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) especially Materials Requirements Planning (MRP), including detailed scheduling.

Good knowledge of ERP systems like SAP

**Desirable**:Diploma in Materials Management
- **Job Skills**:Planning and Organizing skills, excellent communication skills.

**Experience**:3 to 5 years of professional experience in the Supply Chain function with at least 2 years in a similar material planning role in the manufacturing industry
