Salon Receptionist

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Greet customers arriving at the salon and provide them with the information regarding salon services.
- Determine customers’ need for salon services by figuring out their problem areas.
- Ensure that customers are handed over to the correct expert within the salon
- Answer telephone calls and provide information to callers
- Schedule appointments and make follow up calls to customers to remind them of their appointments.
- Handle appointment cancellation and shifting duties
- Collect cash in exchange of services rendered and tender change to customers
- Ask customers for feedback on salon’s services and provide assistance with problems or complaints
- Endorse retail products that the salon is selling by providing information of benefits
- Print out staff rosters and assist in determining commissions
- Ensure cleanliness, neatness and sanitization of salon and equipment per municipality rules & guidelines
- Create and maintain contact with suppliers to ensure that salon supplies are procured in a time efficient manner
- Fill in for absent staff members during high volume times
- Count cash at the end of the shift and ensure that cash flow information has been logged into the salon’s register and daily report sent to owner.
- Handle all complains and send all complains and problems to owner directly
- Make sure the standards & cleanliness of salon is up to par.

**Competencies**:

- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (other language skills are a benefit)
- Positive attitude and **product-selling skills is highly advantage**:

- Can handle admin works, able to follow and understand instructions with common sense
- With highly importance of team work; collaborative leads to better outcome
- With **Great customer service and professionally strong personality** that can face agitated clients. Problem solver have ability to deal with complaints and other salon issues
- Experience in Fresha System is a plus/ other salon booking system is advantage but not required
- Excellent word processing and IT skills, including a range of software packages and comprehensive capabilities in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook Express). Keen to details when it comes to reporting.
- **Honesty and reliability**; The ability to work at his/her own initiative and to tight deadlines;
- Flexibility and adaptability to juggle between a range of tasks and work extra hours to meet deadlines;
- An understanding of confidentiality issues and the use of discretion
- Leadership skills; serve as a good example to other staffs with proper grooming and behavior.
