### **Job Summary**:
The Piping Draftsman is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and schematics of piping systems used in various industries, including oil and gas, chemical, water treatment, power plants, and manufacturing. This role involves working closely with engineers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate, efficient, and safe design of piping systems.

### **Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Drafting and Design**:

- Develop detailed drawings and schematics of piping systems using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Create isometric, orthographic, and sectional views of piping layouts.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.

2. **Documentation and Specifications**:

- Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for all designs and revisions.
- Generate bill of materials (BOM) for piping systems, specifying pipes, fittings, valves, and other components.

3. **Collaboration and Coordination**:

- Work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, and other team members to understand project requirements and constraints.
- Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, civil) to ensure integrated and coherent designs.

4. **Site Visits and Inspections**:

- Conduct site visits to collect data, perform measurements, and verify existing conditions.
- Assist in the inspection and quality control of piping installations to ensure adherence to design specifications.

5. **Quality and Compliance**:

- Ensure all designs meet the required standards and codes (e.g., ASME, ANSI, ISO).
- Address design challenges and propose practical solutions to ensure project success.

### **Qualifications**:
1. **Education**:

- Associate degree or diploma in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field. A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline is a plus.

2. **Experience**:

- Minimum of 4+ years of experience in drafting or designing piping systems.
- Experience in using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, PDMS, or SmartPlant.

3. **Skills**:

- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Strong understanding of industry standards and codes (ASME, ANSI, ISO).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and teamwork skills.

4. **Certifications**:

- Certification from recognized organizations such as the American Design Drafting Association (ADDA) is preferred.

### **Work Environment**:

- Primarily office-based with some site visits as required.
- Occasional travel may be necessary depending on project locations.

### **Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to conduct site visits and perform physical measurements.
- Capable of working in various industrial environments (e.g., oil refineries, chemical plants).
