Veterinary Assistant

**Responsibilities**:
Assist veterinarians in examinations, medical procedures, and surgeries, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for animals.

Prepare and restrain animals for examinations, vaccinations, and treatments, ensuring their well-being and minimizing stress.

Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians, following proper protocols and guidelines.

Conduct various laboratory tests, such as blood work, urinalysis, and radiographs, and ensure accurate documentation of results.

Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures, surgeries, and recovery periods.

Maintain cleanliness and sterility in examination rooms, treatment areas, and surgical suites, adhering to strict infection control protocols.

Provide post-operative care and monitor animals' recovery, including wound management, administering medications, and changing dressings.

Educate pet owners on animal care, medication administration, post-operative care, and preventive healthcare measures.

Assist with diagnostic imaging, such as X-rays and ultrasounds, ensuring proper positioning and obtaining clear images.

Handle and restrain animals during procedures and treatments, using appropriate techniques and ensuring their safety and comfort.

Assist with the maintenance of medical records, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation of treatments, medications, and observations.

Perform basic grooming tasks, such as nail trims, ear cleaning, and bathing, to maintain the overall well-being and hygiene of animals.

Monitor inventory levels of medical supplies, medications, and equipment, and inform the appropriate personnel of any shortages or needs.

Provide compassionate support and assistance to pet owners, addressing their concerns, answering questions, and providing information on animal health and care.

Qualifications:
Degree or diploma in Veterinary Nursing or related field from a recognized institution.

Previous experience as a Veterinary Nurse or Veterinary Technician is preferred.

Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine, animal care, and common medical procedures.

Familiarity with laboratory testing procedures and ability to interpret results accurately.

Proficient in administering medications, vaccinations, and treatments to animals.

Excellent technical skills, including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring.

Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and confidently, using appropriate techniques and equipment.

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact compassionately with animals and their owners.

Knowledge of basic grooming tasks, such as nail trims, ear cleaning, and bathing.

Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate medical records and documentation.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with veterinarians and other veterinary staff.

Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and prioritizing accordingly.

Passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing high-quality care to animals.

Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is advantageous.

Must be eligible to work in the UAE.

**Salary**: AED4,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
