Leading Dubai-based luxury travel and lifestyle title seeks editor to assume responsibility for all editorial output, overseeing operations for _Destinations of the World News_ and _DOTWNEWS.COM_.

**Overview**

Independent luxury travel title _Destinations of the World News_ is looking for an editor to assume editorial leadership of its flagship media platforms and join our team in Dubai, one of the most exhilarating commercial capitals of the world.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate editor with a solid knowledge of the luxury consumer, travel and publishing industries and a history of editing luxury travel or lifestyle titles to manage the entire editorial operation at _Destinations of the World News_, including our flagship monthly print edition, digital newsletters and our online platform _DOTWNEWS.COM._

Responsibilities will include the creation of editorial plans and production timetables, overseeing the allocation of budgets, co-creating marketing campaigns, developing native content, planning events, recruitment and talent management, seeking strategic partnerships and business extensions.

**Other roles and responsibilities include**:

- Project managing the production of creative assets including photo and video shoots.
- Assisting with contract publishing projects on an _ad hoc_ basis, working with the commercial team to create additional revenue streams.
- Co-ordinating and managing social media posts and posting schedule.
- Developing and conceptualising new magazine and website verticals.
- Liaising with the commercial team for partner content.

The above responsibilities give a detailed indication of roles and responsibilities but may not cover every conceivable duty. The editor is expected to remain flexible and open to new projects and commercial endeavours.

The editor will manage the print and online editorial teams, ensuring consistency across both platforms. They will effectively manage freelance budgets to commission high quality, engaging content from contributors around the world. They will manage the entire production process, from meticulously editing and writing copy to proofreading pages and approving final drafts for the press and online posts.

The editor will work closely with the design team, helping to create striking layouts and covers that bring out the best of the content through powerful design concepts and images that convey the nature of the featured destinations. They will also ensure that the luxurious look and feel of our print edition is reflected on _DOTWNEWS.COM_ and all other online platforms.

The individual will also work closely with the sales and marketing department and oversee liaison with the printing press to ensure all production timetables are planned and met in good time.

The successful applicant will represent _Destinations of the World News_ at local and global events, and act as spokesperson at industry conferences. The editor will also be responsible for managing and maintaining media partnerships with key travel industry events and broadening the reach of the publication through new and innovative strategic partnerships.

Ultimately, the editor will be responsible for the growth of the business through the creation of magazine and online content that is recognised for its quality and excellence around the world.

The editor will be an outgoing, personable, dedicated and ambitious individual who is bursting with ideas, with a keen eye for detail, fantastic organisational skills and a thirst for excellence.

**Requirements**:

- At least three years’ experience as editor of a high-end consumer magazine.
- Experience working at a reputable publishing house.
- A background in luxury travel and lifestyle or fashion.
- Experience managing other individuals is essential.
- Formal journalism qualification from a respected institution is a must.
