**Responsibilities**
**Horse Care**:
- Strong knowledge of equine health, nutrition, and behavior.
- Oversee and participate in the daily feeding, grooming, and exercise of horses.
- Monitor the health and well-being of horses, identifying and addressing any medical issues promptly.
- Coordinate with veterinarians, farriers, and other equine professionals to provide top-notch care.
- Develop and implement nutrition and exercise programs tailored to each horse’s needs.
**Stable Management**:
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in the best interest of the horses.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in record-keeping and basic computer skills.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of stables, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for horses.
- Manage inventory of feed, bedding, and supplies, ensuring timely procurement and restocking.
- Develop and enforce stable policies and procedures, including biosecurity measures.
- Supervise and train stable staff, ensuring high standards of care and efficiency.
**Show Preparation**:
- Prepare horses for shows, including grooming, conditioning, and training.
- Coordinate transportation and logistics for horses traveling to shows.
- Manage the show schedule, ensuring horses are ready and in peak condition for competitions.
- Maintain and update records of each horse’s performance and health.
**Facility Management**:
- Oversee maintenance and repairs of stable facilities, arenas, and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
- Plan and coordinate improvements or expansions of stable facilities.
**Administrative Duties**:
- Maintain accurate records of horse care, expenses, and inventory.
- Develop budgets and manage expenses within allocated resources.
- Communicate effectively with horse owners, trainers, and other stakeholders.
- Provide regular reports on stable operations and horse performance.
**Physical Requirements**:
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, bending, and standing for long periods.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
**Qualifications & Experience**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Equine Science, Animal Science, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in horse care and stable management.
- Proven experience with Arabian horses and show horse preparation.
