Optician

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Assist customers in selecting eyeglass frames, lenses, and lens coatings based on their prescription, visual requirements, lifestyle, and fashion preferences.

2. Take accurate measurements of customers’ facial features, interpupillary distance (PD), and frame dimensions to ensure proper fit, alignment, and comfort of eyewear.

3. Educate customers on lens options, including single vision, bifocal, progressive, and specialty lenses, explaining features, benefits, and pricing to help them make informed decisions.

4. Provide guidance and recommendations on lens materials, coatings, tints, and treatments to optimize visual acuity, UV protection, glare reduction, and scratch resistance.

5. Adjust and repair eyeglasses, including frame adjustments, nose pad replacements, temple alignments, and minor repairs, to maintain fit and functionality.

6. Verify and interpret eyeglass prescriptions, including sphere, cylinder, and axis measurements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.

7. Assist customers in selecting and fitting contact lenses, providing instruction on insertion, removal, cleaning, and maintenance techniques as needed.

**Requirements**:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or licensure as an Optician may be required depending on state regulations.
2. Proven experience as an Optician or in a similar role within the optical industry, with expertise in eyewear selection, fitting, and dispensing.
3. Knowledge of optics, lens materials, coatings, and technologies, with the ability to interpret eyeglass prescriptions and recommend appropriate solutions.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage customers, build rapport, and provide personalized service in a retail environment.
5. Attention to detail and accuracy in performing measurements, fittings, and adjustments to ensure optimal fit and comfort of eyewear.
