Construction Project Manager in ROAD AND INFRASTRUCTURE CONSTRUCTION

Plan, direct, or coordinate, usually through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of roads, infrastructures, and systems. Participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation. The Project Manager reports to the Contractor (owner/client and his representatives), Operations Manager and higher management.

**Responsibilities**:

- Plan, schedule, or coordinate construction project activities to meet deadlines.
- Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports.
- Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to representatives of the contractor or the employer(the client) including administrative staff, workers, or clients.
- Direct and supervise construction or related workers.
- Prepare contracts or negotiate revisions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, or subcontractors.
- Review and approve the Project Quality Plans for adequacy and correctness.
- Review and approve Subcontractor’s Quality System Plans and Procedures.

Ensure QA/QC compliance to quality plans and procedures
- Ensure through the Site Quality Representative that work execution is as per the PQP, contract requirements and the Contractor’s quality management system.
- Verify corrective and preventive action. Initiate action to close out NCR as appropriate.
- Provide guidance and assistance to fulfil the Quality System requirements.
- Ensure a comprehensive pre award and post award contract review
- Ensure that the Contractor’s Quality Management System is effectively implemented in the contract.
- Coordinate Heads of Departments for obtaining the necessary resources for the project and deploy as required.
- Perform initial post award and periodical contract review as and when required during the execution of the Contract.
- Ensure HSE procedures and practices compliance with client’s standards and legal obligations.
- Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems.
- Plan, organize, or direct activities concerned with the construction or maintenance of roads, infrastructure or systems.
- Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
- Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites to ensure that proper construction procedures are being followed.
- Implement new or modified plans in response to delays ( bad weather, or construction site emergencies).
- Requisition supplies or materials to complete construction projects.
- Determine labor requirements for dispatching workers to construction sites.
- Carry out regular inspections of the construction area to ensure safety and welfare of the workforce.
- Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Perform, or contract others to perform activities such as cost estimating, rough order of magnitude estimating, feasibility, or energy efficiency, environmental, and sustainability assessments.
- Develop or implement environmental protection programs.
- Evaluate construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness of plans
- Develop construction budgets to compare green and non-green construction alternatives, in terms of short-term costs, long-term costs, or environmental impacts.
- Implement training programs on any related construction topics to update employee skills and knowledge.

**Requirements**:

- BsC in Civil Engineering in Road and Infrastructure
- 10 years in related field and region
- Familiar with CESMM3
- FIDIC condition of contracts familiarity
- Familiar with British Standards (BS code)- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Dubai Traffic Control Devices Manual Awareness
- Cloud-based data access and sharing software — Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft Share Point
- Computer aided design CAD software - Autodesk AutoCAD,Primavera, CADD
- ERP Software versatility
- Document Management System Software such as Adobe Acrobat, Site Manager & etc
- Outstanding time management and scheduling skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to interpret and explain data to others
- Ability to resolve conflicts and disputes, including handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.
- Electronic Mail Software knowledge

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Sharjah: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
