AWP Technician

Our client specializing in aerial work platforms is urgently recruiting qualified a highly experienced Level 3 AWP Technician to be part of their dynamic team. Candidate must have the flexibility in terms of work location as the role is to be based in Dubai or in Abu Dhabi.

Job scope as detailed below:

Under direction repairs/installs and maintains Aerial Work Platform equipment in a safe and professional manner including DC electrical systems hydraulic systems & associated equipment as well as mechanical equipment such as engines motors and subassemblies by performing the duties listed below.

• Maintain a clean and safe work area strictly adhering to best practice safety protocols.
  
• Foster positive customer relations through professional interactions and service excellence.
  
• Ensure the safe maintenance and repair of a range of Aerial Work Platforms (AWPs) and associated equipment encompassing mechanical diesel electrical and electronic systems.
  
• Install and repair mechanical hydraulic and electrical components including but not limited to hydraulic cylinders engine parts switches controllers and related parts.
  
• Disassemble devices to access and replace defective parts while meticulously examining parts for imperfections.
  
• Lubricate and clean parts testing device performance before and after repair.
  
• Utilize repair equipment and parts according to prescribed procedures and instructions.
  
• Diagnose issues conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshoot faults on equipment in accordance with manufacturers and Manlift requirements.
  
• Generate detailed "Field Service reports" and "service work orders" outlining maintenance tasks faults identified and resources expended.
  
• Operate equipment proficiently providing customer demonstrations and guidance as necessary.
  
• Maintain service vehicles in a clean and professional condition.
  
• Inspect used parts for imperfections or dimensional changes making necessary adjustments or replacements.
  
• Install specialized functional and structural parts in equipment.
  
• Calibrate equipment using electronic aids and programmable controls.
  
• Troubleshoot and inspect machines for mechanical electrical and hydraulic faults and malfunctions.
  
• Conduct specialized maintenance tasks including major overhauls of engines hydraulic pumps and cylinders rotary couplings swing drives torque hubs and other mechanical components.
  
• Perform initial checks and final inspections of machines according to TMW guidelines.
  
• Repair electrical components such as starter motors alternators and various controllers.
  
• Test and adjust pressure settings of function pumps control valves charge and pressure valves and conduct engine valve lash adjustments.
  
• Employ basic testing and measuring instruments to analyze calibrate and adjust equipment parameters.
  
• Interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics to troubleshoot faults on various AWPs.
  
• Demonstrate flexibility in responding to changes in schedules and job scope whether working individually or leading a team in major repair and maintenance tasks on all Manlift equipment
  

To be considered for this position candidates must meet the following criteria:

Possess a minimum of 45 years of relevant experience in the same industry.

Hold a Diploma or Certificate in Engineering or demonstrate 35 years of increasingly responsible maintenance and repair experience in AWP s (Aerial Work Platforms) or related equipment.

Completion of manufacturer s training programs specific to AWP repair and maintenance

Proficient in the use of diagnostic equipment and procedures

Strong command of English both written and verbal. Fluency in additional language is advantageous.

Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new concepts and technologies with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.

Possession of a valid UAE driving license is preferred.

IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) certification is considered a valuable asset.

Desired Knowledge:

• Comprehensive understanding of maintenance and repair methodologies terminology tools and spare parts commonly utilized in the servicing of Aerial Work Platforms (AWPs).
  
• Proficiency in identifying and mitigating occupational hazards associated with AWP operation and maintenance coupled with adherence to standard safety practices in accordance with industry regulations and guidelines.
