Job Specific Accountabilities

  • Review proficiencies and qualifications for personnel proposed to work on marine units operating in company offshore locations or to interface with company facilities to ensure their level of competency comply with approved procedures, policies, and project requirements
  • Provide proficient advise and act as an expert for issues related to marine services
  • Monitor and supervise all activities related to marine operations according to the project plan to eliminate any hazard exposure to the company facilities
  • Carry out duties in line with company policies and procedures and as directed by the line manager
  • Schedule and supervise the daily movements and work activities of marine units and contractors to ensure performance in accordance with scope of project plan
  • Contribute to development of contingency plans and shall be available to answer calls at all times to ensure immediate dealing with emergencies and act as directed by the line manager as well as contribute to incident investigations as required
  • Monitors the operating conditions, service equipment and systems, and the physical fitness of the team members to modify the plan to any changes from original conditions
  • Participates in International and local forums on technical issues relevant to marine operations to promote adopting technology advances
  • Maintain a daily record for details of any deviation of operating conditions or changes in schedules from original project plan to ensure that all necessary information and particulars are available for informed decision making by department manager
  • Provide supervision, training and development activities for new personnel to support organization's succession plans

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma in Marine related discipline or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience in general diving operations with minimum 3 years in a supervisory capacity

Professional Certifications

  • IMCA Air Diving supervisor or equivalent trade certificate from a recognized organization
  • HSE Part 1 or equivalent Offshore Diver Certification from a recognized organization
  • Diving First Aid certificate and IMCA Dive Medical Technician certification
