About the Role: Principal Design Engineer

You'll play a pivotal role in growing and leading our Dubai design team. Your expertise will drive complex structural solutions for

large-scale infrastructure and temporary works projects

, ensuring they are delivered to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and expand a design team, mentoring junior engineers and participating in recruitment.
Manage design scopes for

large infrastructure civil projects and specialised temporary works

, efficiently breaking them into manageable tasks and delivering within budget.
Develop structural designs across all aspects of temporary works and construction-phase projects, including formwork, falsework, scaffolding, and other critical structures.
Utilise and train on software such as SpaceGass, Midas Civil, Strand7, Tekla Structures, and Autodesk Suite.
Provide detailed deliverables, including reports, calculations, and construction sequence statements.
Collaborate closely with drafters to ensure accurate design documentation and adherence to timelines.
Minimise design risks and deliver robust, cost-effective solutions.
Support tenders and proposals with technical insights and estimates.
Required Skills & Experience:

10+ years of experience in structural engineering, including large-scale civil infrastructure and temporary works design.
Chartered Engineer status (or on track within six months).
Practical site experience and a problem-solving mindset for construction-related challenges.
Expertise in temporary works design and structural systems, including steel and concrete.
Proficiency in 3D structural analysis software and familiarity with design codes and standards (Australian or UAE/GCC).
Strong organisational, communication, and team collaboration skills.
Culturally aware and sensitive, with a passion for working in a diverse, dynamic environment.
