Job Title: Junior Accountant

Job Location: On site: Business Bay

Job Type: Full-Time (Monday- Saturday 9:00-18:00)

About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team. As a Junior Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the accounting department by handling day-to-day financial operations and ensuring accurate and timely reporting. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in preparing financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  2. Record and process accounting entries, including journal entries, to maintain accurate financial records.
  3. Assist with VAT return filings and stay up to date with relevant VAT laws and regulations.
  4. Manage petty cash and ensure proper documentation for all transactions.
  5. Perform monthly and year-end bank reconciliations, resolving discrepancies when necessary.
  6. Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  7. Assist in basic payroll processing, ensuring accurate data entry and adherence to payroll schedules.
  8. Collaborate with team members to ensure effective communication and smooth workflow in the finance department.
  9. Ensure data accuracy and attention to detail in all financial transactions and reports.
  10. Help with ad-hoc accounting projects and tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  1. Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounting entries.
  2. Proven experience in preparing financial statements.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and QuickBooks.
  4. Solid knowledge of VAT laws and experience with VAT return filings.
  5. Experience managing petty cash.
  6. Previous experience with bank reconciliations.
  7. Experience in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  8. Basic understanding of payroll processing.
  9. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  10. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with other team members.
  11. Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  2. Previous experience in a junior accounting or bookkeeping role is a plus.
