Roles and Responsibilities

1. Leadership and Team Management

  1. Staff Supervision: The ability to lead, motivate, and supervise store staff, including scheduling, training, and managing performance.
  2. Delegation: Effectively delegating tasks and responsibilities to team members while ensuring accountability and follow-through.
  3. Conflict Resolution: Handling internal disputes or customer complaints in a calm, professional, and timely manner to maintain a harmonious work environment.

2. Customer Service and Relationship Building

  1. Customer Experience: Ensuring that customers receive outstanding service by monitoring staff interactions and stepping in when needed.
  2. Problem-Solving: Resolving customer issues and complaints by finding effective solutions that enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  3. Customer Retention: Implementing strategies to build relationships with repeat customers and enhance their shopping experience.

3. Sales and Financial Acumen

  1. Sales Targets: Assisting the store manager in achieving or exceeding sales goals, ensuring that the store meets revenue and profitability targets.
  2. Merchandising: Organizing and displaying products effectively to maximize sales, ensuring that promotions and sales are visible to customers.
  3. Inventory Management: Assisting with inventory control, including stock replenishment, organizing the stockroom, and ensuring accurate product counts.

4. Operational Management

  1. Store Procedures: Implementing and maintaining store policies and procedures to ensure smooth daily operations.
  2. Visual Merchandising: Overseeing product displays, signage, and store layout to create a visually appealing environment that attracts customers and boosts sales.
  3. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensuring the store meets all health, safety, and legal regulations, including safety protocols and employee well-being.

5. Time Management and Organizational Skills

  1. Multitasking: Balancing multiple responsibilities, such as managing the team, handling customer inquiries, and overseeing the store's operations.
  2. Scheduling: Creating staff schedules to ensure the store is properly staffed at all times while accommodating team members' availability and preferences.
  3. Task Prioritization: Prioritizing daily tasks and responsibilities, ensuring that important tasks are completed on time, especially during busy sales periods.

6. Communication Skills

  1. Team Communication: Effectively communicating expectations, updates, and feedback to the store team to keep everyone aligned.
  2. Customer Interaction: Strong verbal communication skills to engage with customers, explain products or promotions, and ensure their needs are met.
  3. Reporting: Reporting on store performance, sales figures, stock levels, and staff performance to the store manager.

7. Technology and Systems Knowledge

  1. Point of Sale (POS) Systems: Familiarity with POS systems for processing transactions, managing inventory, and generating sales reports.
  2. Retail Management Software: Proficiency in using retail management software to track inventory, sales, and employee schedules.
  3. Basic IT Skills: Competence in using basic office software (Microsoft Office, Google Suite) for communication, reporting, and analysis.
Desired Candidate Profile

The Store Manager is responsible for ensuring flawless execution of the assigned tasks within the store, as well as driving the retail operations to maximize sales and profitability, and manage stock effectively. Responsible for delivering best-in-class customer experience and business growth. The Store Manager also drives people development by securing second-line leaders to manage the retail operations, engage Organizational Health Index, and retain the workforce within the store.
ROLE PROFILE

  1. Resource availability to serve the customers and to match the customer flow in the store.
  2. Train and develop teams to meet customer requirements.
  3. Overall health & safety.
  4. Meet and interact with customers to know their preferences to enhance their experience.
  5. Customer retention.
  6. Stock, shrinkage, and waste management - business cycle.
  7. Understand competition landscape and suggest improvements.
  8. Order fulfillment and management - parameters on orders should be done correctly in the system, check in-complete orders online, on-time delivery.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.
  2. Master's Degree in Business Administration is preferred.
  3. 8+ years relevant experience in a similar role, 5+ years in a Retail Business.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  5. Strong people and negotiation skills - capable of easily building relationships across all levels.
  6. Leadership skills.
