Job Summary

The Taxation Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of taxation for the company across the GCC region. This role involves ensuring compliance with local tax regulations, optimizing tax strategies, and overseeing financial and accounting (F&A) reporting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in taxation and financial reporting within the logistics industry and a strong understanding of GCC tax laws.

1. Tax Compliance:

  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns, including VAT, corporate tax, and any other applicable taxes across the GCC region.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations in the GCC countries and ensure the company's compliance.
  • Liaise with tax authorities and manage tax audits and inquiries effectively.

2. Tax Planning and Strategy:

  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position.
  • Identify and mitigate tax risks and ensure effective tax planning.
  • Advise senior management on tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS and other applicable accounting standards.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.

4. Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Collaborate with the finance team to develop budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget and forecasts.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis and reports to senior management.

5. Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve tax and financial reporting processes.
  • Implement best practices and automation tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Conduct regular reviews of tax and financial reporting processes and implement necessary changes.
  • Lead and mentor a team of finance and tax professionals.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and development opportunities.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

7. Advisory and Support:

  • Provide tax and financial advisory support to various business units.
  • Assist in structuring transactions and contracts to optimize tax outcomes.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives from a tax and financial perspective.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional qualification such as CPA, CA is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in taxation and financial reporting
  • Proven experience in the logistics or related industry within the GCC region.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of GCC tax laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting standards, particularly IFRS.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
