About the role
As the Supply Chain Director GEM you will be leading the Customer Care and Distribution teams across the region to achieve our overall growth objectives for the region. As the leader you will be responsible for building and developing world‑class Supply Chain performance through‑out our order fulfilment and Distribution/Logistic processes on a daily basis to our customers in our international markets. You will also partner with our global and regional Demand Planning teams to improve our forecasting and product availability.
You will be transforming the organisation through embedding a continuous improvement culture to continue to deliver results, implement new capabilities and services, exceed customer expectations, explore sales growth opportunities and continue high levels of employee engagement and motivation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and drive the regional Supply Chain strategies, in close partnership with the regional and global Supply Chain teams and in line with the GEM business strategies.
- Manage the development and execution of distribution and logistics requirements.
- Monitor manufacturing and distribution channels and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Partner with global and regional demand planning functions to manage inventory and SI&OP processes to a minimum level without service level failures.
- Provide work direction to Regional Customer Care and Logistic/Distribution teams and interact with Global Supply Chain Demand Managers, Demand Planners, and Analysts.
- Monitor supply chain performance (i.e. physical flow, allocation, master data, and intervene as required to ensure optimal performance).
- Achieve Regional Performance Metric goals/objectives (service level, EE&O, short shelf life, backorders, forecast accuracy, inventory turns, etc.).
- Lead through remote management the operational execution efforts around Supply Chain capabilities in an effort to enhance current and create future scalable offerings within our service portfolio.
- Keep overall performance and customer feedback visible to all key stakeholders while ensuring solid plans are in place to close any potential gaps in service execution.
- Establish a strong culture of continuous improvement, following the Lean methodologies.
- Be an active partner and contributor of the EMEA Supply Chain organisation. Leverage our global and EMEA infrastructure and economies of scale in order to continue to optimise our value across Boston Scientific’s end‑to‑end supply chain.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced or Master Degree preferred in relevant specialisation.
- 15 years of relevant functional and leadership experience within Supply Chain on a broad international scale.
- At least 10 years of managerial experience in leading remotely diverse teams.
- Experience and a wide network with relevant Logistics and Distribution partners within some key GEM countries.
- Demonstrated capability in collaborating and partnering within a complex global matrix organisation.
- Proven track record in leading transformational change whilst ensuring continuation of high quality services.
- Strong interpersonal communication, collaboration and influencing skills within a very diverse, multi‑cultural region.
