We are seeking a talented and experienced Sushi Chef to join our team. The Sushi Chef will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi dishes, maintaining an organized and clean kitchen, and ensuring food safety standards are met. This individual should be passionate about traditional Japanese cuisine and have an understanding of modern sushi trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve various types of sushi (nigiri, sashimi, rolls, etc.) in accordance with restaurant recipes and standards.
  • Select, prepare, and handle raw fish and seafood, ensuring the highest quality and freshness.
  • Create and innovate new sushi rolls and dishes to enhance the menu.
  • Maintain proper food safety and cleanliness in the kitchen, including adhering to hygiene standards and keeping work areas sanitized.
  • Work efficiently to prepare sushi during peak hours while maintaining consistent quality.
  • Assist with training and mentoring junior kitchen staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Manage inventory and supplies, ensuring ingredients are fresh and stock is appropriately rotated.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, ingredients, and presentation.
  • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
