Job Duties
- Establishing control points used for surveys
- Using instruments such as total stations, electronic distance meters (EDMs), global positioning systems (GPS) and levels
- Collecting data from existing control points
- Preparing survey sketches, maps, reports, charts, digital models and other documents from field survey data
- Keeping records of surveys including measurements and calculations performed
Qualifications & Requirements
- Degree in civil engineering or a related field
- At least 3 years' experience in land surveying
- Knowledge of surveying laws, regulations and standards
- Proficient with AutoCAD software or similar programs
- Ability to read blueprints/maps/plans
- Excellent mathematical skills
- Strong communication skills both orally and in writing
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
