Earth Sciences, Faculty Position
Khalifa University and the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences seek applicants for a faculty position at the Full Professor level in the Department of Earth Science for Fall 2025. We seek applicants who will strengthen our research and education programs in core and emerging areas of Earth Sciences. Only applicants with experience in the following areas will be considered:
- Geophysics
- Remote sensing and planetary observation
- Structural Geology
- Geomatics
- Digital geoscience
Preferential consideration will be given to applicants with at least 10 years of academic experience and a strong research, teaching, and service portfolio. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate field-based courses. The applicant may support teaching courses in the following areas: Remote Sensing, Geophysical Imaging, Geographic Information Systems, Plate Tectonics and Geodynamics, Solid Earth, Environmental and Engineering Geophysics.

- Up-to-date CV, including the applicant's Scopus link.
- Research statement, including a concise research plan over the next 3 to 5 years (maximum 2 pages).
- Teaching statement, including a teaching portfolio and concise description of experience with curriculum development at the undergraduate and graduate levels (maximum 2 pages).
Candidates must submit their application package at the Khalifa University careers web portal. A copy should also be sent to EarthScience@ku.ac.ae with the Subject "Application for Job Posting ID: 25000038". Review of applications will formally start on March 14th, 2025, and will continue until all open positions are filled. The projected start date of all positions is August 2025.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Earth and Planetary Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Record of research excellence commensurate with the applicant's academic career history.
- Record of excellence in teaching as appropriate to the applicant's academic experience.
- Record of successful graduate student supervision.
- Record of success in securing and managing funded research projects.
