Job Description

BIM / Digital Delivery Coordinator – Utilities is responsible for leading BIM coordination and information delivery for utility infrastructure projects. The role acts as the key interface between the utilities discipline, technical leads, digital delivery teams, and other disciplines, ensuring coordinated models, drawings, and project information are delivered to the required standards.

Job Summary

BIM / Digital Delivery Coordinator – Utilities is responsible for leading BIM coordination and information delivery for utility infrastructure projects. The role acts as the key interface between the utilities discipline, technical leads, digital delivery teams, and other disciplines, ensuring coordinated models, drawings, and project information are delivered to the required standards.

Key responsibilities

Interfaces the role owns

• The interface with the discipline technical project lead.
• The interface is with the project digital delivery manager and the project digital delivery coordinator.
• Coordination with the other disciplines: roads, landscape, structures and others as the project requires.
• The interdisciplinary model coordination meeting.

Coordination and clash

• Manage the model coordination space for utilities, including what is shared into it and when.
• Own the reported progress position on clash resolution and on issue resolution.
• Handle document comments and resolution against the BIM models and track them to closure.
• Escalate coordination items that are not moving, with the evidence attached.

Information management

• Support the master information delivery plan and the discipline task information delivery plans.
• Own data shortcut setup across the coordinated model.
• Arrange the part catalogue and object library each project requires.
• Own model and drawing delivery into the coordinated environment.

Quality

• Own the discipline model checklist, the 3D check.
• Own the drawing checklist and CAD standard compliance check, the 2D check.
• Own production of BIM models in terms of geometry, attributes and export to the required proprietary formats.

Capability

• Deliver internal training on the authoring tools.
• Support bids and tender responses on BIM capability, approach and resourcing.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, architecture, GIS, geomatics or geography.
• 8+ years in BIM on infrastructure projects, of which at least 3 years in a dedicated coordination role.
• Demonstrable ISO 19650 delivery and experience coordinating more than two disciplines at once.
• Middle East consultancy experience preferred.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Technical requirements

• Navisworks to an expert level: clash matrices, search sets, appearance profiles, resolution tracking and reporting.
• Civil 3D and Revit for models received from building and structural disciplines.
• Autodesk Construction Cloud or BIM 360 coordination spaces, or ProjectWise; Revizto is an advantage.
• ISO 19650 in practice, including information states, level of information need and the delivery plans.
• Data shortcuts, part catalogues and object libraries; Dynamo, Python scripting or ArcGIS are each an advantage.
