Position: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities:

  1. Technical lead of MEP teams, from concept design through to construction issue and site supervision.
  2. Set standards for mechanical design.
  3. Ensure that all design teams follow the required standards.
  4. Lead and supervise design of mechanical services.
  5. Supervise and manage the preparation of design calculations.
  6. Supervise design according to local rules, regulations and design guides.
  7. Supervise design to British, American and/or International design standards as required by the project.
  8. Preparing technical specifications and reports.
  9. Attend meetings.
  10. Supervise engineers and CAD operators in all project related matters.
  11. Responsible for QA and the checking of all design work carried out prior to formal issue.
  12. Coordinate with Architects, Structural Engineers and other MEP disciplines.
  13. Supervision of site surveys and inspections.
  14. Ensure full coordination between the MEP elements of the design team, throughout the design process.
  15. Ensure full coordination between the MEP design team and other disciplines including architectural, civil, and structural.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Degree qualified – minimum requirement of BEng.
  2. More than 5 years experience working in the design of civil-mechanical projects.
  3. Experience of mechanical design software – Computer design package E-20, IES Design Suite, Amtech etc.
  4. Understanding of British, American and International design standards.
  5. Good level of computer literacy in Windows and other Microsoft products – an understanding of BIM and CAD is beneficial.
  6. Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
  7. Able to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a proactive way.
  8. Good report writing skills, experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with clients is essential.
  9. Ability to manage the workload of a team of engineers/technicians and BIM/CAD staff.
