Position: Commercial Manager

Project Type: Major Infrastructure Project including roads, bridges, or ports works

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Manager to oversee post-contract commercial management for a prestigious infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will have strong in cost control, risk management and strong relationships with clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in a commercial management role within the infrastructure sector.
  • Proven infrastructure experience with specific exposure to projects in Abu Dhabi.
  • Strong expertise in contract administration, claims, and dispute resolution
  • FIDIC contract knowledge and experience handling variations, change orders, and final accounts
  • Advantageous: Experience working on DMT projects (roads, bridges, or ports).

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial & Contractual Management

  • Oversee post-contract commercial management, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations
  • Manage and administer contracts, including variations, claims, and change orders
  • Conduct tender analysis, bid leveling, and contract negotiations
  • Establish an efficient cost control and forecasting process
  • Ensure accurate measurement and quantity take-offs
  • Provide cost planning, cash flow projections, and budget updates
  • Evaluate and approve valuations, requisitions, and payment recommendations
  • Lead value engineering (VE) efforts to optimize project costs
  • Advise clients and project teams on financial and contractual matters
  • Chair commercial meetings, issue minutes, and provide project financial reports
  • Assist in risk management and claims mitigation strategies
  • Negotiate and agree on the final account for all contracts
