Job Description- Lead and oversee all phases of project execution from conception to commissioning, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to finalize design specifications that meet safety and operational standards unique to chemical processing.
- Manage procurement processes for equipment and materials, ensuring compliance with local regulations and quality standards.
- Facilitate effective communication between stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to foster project transparency.
- Implement risk management strategies to identify potential project risks and develop mitigation plans proactively.
- Monitor project progress through regular updates and reporting, adjusting plans as necessary to stay on target.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability practices throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to health and safety protocols among all workforce members.
- Lead and mentor project teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Prepare and present comprehensive project documentation and reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Liaise with the Managing director at all stages of the project and process and be the key point of contact throughout the process.
- Present Budget Vs Actual expense on a monthly basis to the Managing director.
Manage the project team (design engineers, project engineers, and logistics teams), site activity, and project execution from start to completion of the project.
Team building (design engineers, project engineers, and logistics teams) in coordination with company HR.
Procurement of materials by tendering contracts and negotiations and assigning jobs to the commercial head.
Ensure healthy liaising relations with Govt & Local bodies/ Head HR industrial relation / public relation officer.
Oversee the erection, inspection, commissioning, and handling of the equipment and machinery and all civil, building and engineering works involved in the project.
Ensure the project is kept on budget and within agreed timescales, communicating all issues and progress with the Management team.
Prepare budgets, cash flows, etc., on preliminary/detailed drawings.
Lead the project management using PERT techniques in coordination with engaged consultants / engineering of the project.
Review engineering drawings, layouts, cost estimates, etc.
Strong background in working with cross-functional teams Basic engineering, FEED, Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Man-power allocation.
Desired Candidate Profile- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in project management within the chemical industry, showcasing a strong track record.
- Certification in Project Management (PMP or equivalent) is highly desirable, signaling proficiency in project execution.
- Experience in managing large-scale chemical plant projects, including design, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Nationality preference for candidates from GCC countries or those with extensive knowledge of the UAE market.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage for effective stakeholder communication.
- Strong technical skills in chemical processes and engineering principles, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Proficient in project management software and tools, ensuring seamless tracking and reporting of project milestones.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of motivating diverse teams towards a common goal.
