Engineer I, Planning

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Supervise all assigned Controller(s), Document; Expeditor(s) and Technician(s), planning in support of the accomplishment of the maintenance mission.
2. Oversee the planning, tracking and analysis of project types of various types, size and complexity.
3. Assist in planning the resource requirements, workflow planning, design layouts of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
4. Schedule all assigned works, materials, tools and consumables requirement planning, monitoring, and controlling the material movement.
5. Develop and monitor the training of all assigned employees on a variety of fabrication tasks to ensure work is executed as planned.
6. Supervise the completion of maintenance-related documentation such as work orders, repair parts request forms, and technical data sheets.
7. Ensure the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and quality procedures for all assigned fabrication operations.
8. Ensure that all material and consumables research is performed, and that the required material and consumables are requisitioned in appropriate quantities.
9. Confer with vendors to determine fabrication workshop equipment specifications and assist for the purchase of equipment, materials or parts.
10. Evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.
11. Estimate production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
12. Assist in the preparation and updating of BPA item lists, preparing the purchase request for all required tools and consumables, coordinating with the procurement team.
13. Confer with management, engineering and other employees regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate the production process.
14. Comply with and enforce all safety, housekeeping and environmental directives.
15. Monitor and control all assigned operations and ensure they are accomplished in accordance with all technical manuals, KPIs, OEM specifications and customer requirements.
16. Ensure all issued tools, test equipment and high-value property is maintained in a serviceable condition, routinely inventoried and safeguarded.
17. Maintain the confidentiality and security of all company information.
18. Perform other duties as required by the Manager, Fabrication.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
2. A minimum of one year of experience in planning with a knowledge of manufacturing concepts is preferred.
3. A minimum of one year of experience in fabrication is required; in a manufacturing environment or automotive industry is preferred.
4. Previous military or automotive industry experience is an advantage.
5. Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma and ISO methodologies, practices and processes in a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) setting is an advantage.
6. The ability to identify process and workflow improvements is an advantage.
7. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are preferred.
8. The ability to communicate effectively with both managerial and non-managerial personnel is required.
9. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software is required; experience with SAP is preferred.
10. The ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally is required.
11. Have, or be able to obtain a valid UAE driver's license.
